Section 59 of the Clean Water Act
Local Source Protection Plan (SPP) policies identify land-use activities that are subject to prohibition or risk management plans. These activities are identified in local SPPs, municipal official plans and/or zoning by-laws. A Notice to proceed is required from a Risk Management Official before an application or approval under the Planning Act can proceed or a building permit issued.
If you are applying for a building permit, please download, complete and submit the Section 59 Screening Form
