GSCA's Watershed Based Resource Managment Strategy
Ontario Regulation 686/21 – Mandatory Programs and Services Regulation made under the Conservation Authorities Act, requires that conservation authorities develop and implement a Watershed Based Resource Management Strategy on or before December 31, 2024.
The strategy must summarize GSCA’s programs, technical studies, and supporting information for program delivery. It also requires that GSCA identify and analyze any issues or risks related to the effectiveness of offering these programs and provide a cost estimate for taking actions to address these issues or risks. The Strategy must also outline how regular reviews will be conducted and how stakeholders will be involved in the process.
GSCA conducted a detailed review of all its programs, identifying barriers and brainstorming solutions to improve effectiveness. Each solution was evaluated for need and feasibility, and cost estimates were developed to address key issues. These costs were then refined to share resources across programs, minimizing financial impacts.
