Board of Directors

The members of the Board of Directors of Grey Sauble Conservation are appointed by the eight municipalities that exist within the Grey Sauble Conservation watershed. Under the Conservation Authorities Act, municipalities with fewer than 10,000 residents, in the GSCA watershed portion of the municipality, shall appoint one director, those between 10,000 and 50,000 residents shall appoint two directors. Member municipalities must appoint elected members of their Council to the Board.

The position of Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board are elected annually at the first Board of Directors meeting of the year. At the same meeting the Board of Directors may appoint representatives to one or more committees. Such appointments may be from within the Board itself or from amongst members of the public who have expressed an interest in one or more of the various committees. Committees of Grey Sauble Conservation include the Inglis Falls Arboretum Alliance, the Forestry Committee and the Indigenous and GSCA Relations Committee.

The following applies to anyone wishing to make a deputation presentation or discuss a specific item before the Board:

· Submit a request in writing to the Chief Administrative Officer at least ten days prior to the date of the meeting at which said person desires to be heard.

· The written request shall state the nature of the business to be discussed.

· Persons addressing the board of directors shall confine their remarks to the stated business.

· A person addressing the board may speak for no more than ten minutes and a delegation consisting of more than one person, representing the same interest group, shall designate one person to speak on their behalf.
