Visiting a GSCA Property:

Please be aware of the permitted uses on each property and follow trail etiquette for your safety and to protect the plants, animals, and natural features that make these places unique.

  • Hike when properties are open and only from dawn until dusk
  • Pack out all garbage
  • Keep pets on leash and clean up after them
  • Stay on trails at all times
  • Only view waterfalls from designated areas. Access to the base or top of GSCA waterfalls is dangerous and strictly prohibited.
  • Do not remove plants, wildlife, rocks, wood, etc. from GSCA properties.
  • Only park in designated areas
  • Be respectful of other trail/property users

Fall/Winter Maintenance:

GSCA properties are transitioning into a fall/winter maintenance schedule. Washrooms are being closed and garbage receptacles are being removed. Please plan your visit accordingly.


  • Indian Falls is closed due to flooding on the trails.
  • The gate to the main parking area at Hibou is now closed for the season, but the property remains open. 
  • Eugenia Falls is now closed for the fall/winter season.

Tips to remember while navigating nature during COVID-19:

  • Amenities like washrooms and garbage receptacles may not be available, so please plan your visit accordingly. 
  • Maintain physical distancing when on the trails.
  • Avoid touching surfaces.
  • Take all garbage home, including dog waste.
  • Be sure to check this page regularly for updates before you plan your hike.
  • Be mindful of other trail users and limit your time to share the resources.
  • Enjoy all the physical and mental health benefits of being in nature at GSCA’s properties!

Property Closures:

Please note that we are currently operating at a temporarily reduced capacity while also experiencing a high number of applications and inquiries to our Environmental Planning Department at this time. Please use our contact form only for inquiries related to planning and development permits. Inquiries must include all requested information for a response by a planning staff member.


The GSCA office is open again to the public. The lobby will be open between 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm (Monday-Friday) for individuals to drop off items, pick up any necessary materials, and to pay for services. COVID-19 self-screening will be required prior to entering the building and masks are mandatory. Meetings with staff will be by appointment only starting on October 18, 2021.

Some GSCA staff will be working remotely and may not have access to office phones.
