The Wildwater Program (spring ice water safety program) was developed by Grey Sauble Conservation staff in the 1980’s and today it still continues to be popular in the Bluewater and Catholic School Boards, home school programs and private school systems. The program is designed for Grade 4 and 5 students and teaches them: the dangers of fast moving spring water, dangers of playing near dams, hypothermia, dangers to recognize when playing outside, the weighted swim and blubber glove challenge. The program is free and begins in February and runs through to mid-March.
The Wildwater Community Partner has been Ontario Power Generation in 2013, 2014, 2015. We thank OPG for their continued support!
