Before Harvest/Thinning

After a plantation has been growing for approximately 30 years, an inventory of the forest stand is completed, which compiles important information, such as:

• Tree species present and their height and DBH (diameter at breast height)
• Density (trees per hectare)
• The quality of trees for wood products
• Amount of regeneration present and the species
• Distribution of trees by size and quality
• Presence of Species-at-Risk and other significant wildlife features
• Age of trees
