Source Protection Plan
Through the Clean Water Act, 2006:
- A local committee was established to develop a Source Protection Plan to protect municipal sources of drinking water.
- The Source Protection Plan determines the areas that are vulnerable or at risk of contamination.
- The plan identifies potential threats and develop plans to deal with the threats to our drinking water sources.
The Source Protection Plan for this region has been approved by the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, and took effect in 2016.

Source Protection Committee
The Saugeen Valley and Grey Sauble Conservation Authorities along with the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula have partnered together to work with the Source Protection Committee to coordinate the development a Source Protection Plan for our watershed.
Local partnership includes Grey Sauble Conservation Authority, Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, and the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

DWSP Risk Management
Grey Sauble Conservation staff have the designated responsibility for the delivery of Risk Management services on behalf of 15 municipalities across Grey and Bruce Counties.
These services include duties specified under the Clean Water Act for the development of Risk Management Plans, screening land-use planning applications, inspection, enforcement and annual reporting requirements.
